  • Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication

    Launch a career in journalism and mass communication with an online bachelor’s degree from Drake’s award-winning School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

    Students will be admitted to Drake via the usual processes for undergraduate admission, and initially they must transfer in at least 60 credits as part of their AA or AS degree. To apply for admission to Drake’s fully online journalism and mass communication program:

    • Complete the online application.
    • Submit your official transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities. Official transcripts must be prepared and sent by the institution in question and received by Drake University in a sealed envelope.
    • Once the application is received, our admissions may ask you to submit your ACT or SAT score or a one-page essay if the admissions team needs additional information.

    Students may be accepted based on unofficial transcripts, however official transcripts are due prior to course start.

    Official transcripts must be submitted no more than 30 days after student begins classes. ALL official transcripts for undergraduate coursework are required and must be sent directly from the schools.

    International Students
    If a student completed coursework outside of the United States, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is required. Scores dated within the last two years are acceptable and must be reported directly from the testing agency. Minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 197 on the computer-based exam, 530 on the paper-based exam, or 71 on the Internet-based exam. Minimum acceptable IELTS score is 6.0. Minimum scores on each section of reading, writing, speaking, and listening may be required.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication in Public Relations

    Advance in your career by completing Drake University’s CEPR-accredited Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication in Public Relations.

    Students will be admitted to Drake via the usual processes for undergraduate admission, and initially they must transfer in at least 60 credits as part of their AA or AS degree. To apply for admission to Drake’s fully online journalism and mass communication program:

  • Master of Arts in Communication

    Advance your career in the fast-paced communications industry with a master’s degree from Drake’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

    To apply for admission to our fully online Master of Arts in Communication program:

    • Submit contact information for two professional recommendations.
    • Communication Leadership Track: Discuss how your own personal and professional experiences inform your understanding of communication leadership. In your response, additionally discuss the applicability of communication leadership and our program to both your short and long term goals.
    • Brand Communication Track: Identify a brand you believe has been, and continues to be effectively communicated in today’s marketplace. Persuasively explain what makes the brand effective in terms of communication practices.
    • Public Affairs and Advocacy Track:
      • Option 1: Explain what cause and or advocacy organization you would most like to work for or support and why. In your response, consider how our program in Public Affairs and Advocacy would apply to your support of that organization/cause.
      • Option 2: Select a pressing issue facing society and persuasively advocate for a solution to that issue.Submit a short statement of purpose based on the following prompts. Respond to the prompt that aligns with the communications track you would like to pursue.

     

    International Students
    If a student earned her/his undergraduate degree outside of the United States, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is required. Scores dated within the last two years are acceptable and must be reported directly from the testing agency. Minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 213 on the computer-based exam, 550 on the paper-based exam, or 79-80 on the Internet-based exam. Minimum acceptable IELTS score is 6.5. Minimum scores on each section of reading, writing, speaking and listening may be required.

    Transfer Credits
    Students may transfer a maximum of nine credit hours in graduate coursework from another accredited institution or from another Drake academic unit. All transfer credits must be earned with a grade of at least a “B-” and within five years prior to completing the Master of Arts in Communication degree. Common transfer credits could include core MBA courses or graduate English courses.

  • Master of Business Administration

    Become a competitive player in the marketplace with a Master of Business Administration degree from Drake’s Zimpleman College of Business.

    To apply for admission to Drake’s fully online Master of Business Administration program:

Lindquist Scholarship for Graduate Studies in Business and Public Administration supports the mission of the Zimpleman College of Business by providing financial support to Iowa residents pursuing a graduate business degree at Drake University who demonstrate positive societal contributions and support to the ideals of diversity and representation in Drake’s student body, the college, and their field either through lived experiences or advocacy.

    and representation in Drake’s student body, the college, and their field either through lived

  • Master of Science in Business Analytics

    Non-Degree Admission
    A Certificate in Data Analytics can be achieved by taking the five core MDAL courses.  The certificate is not transcripted (no degree awarded) and students are not eligible for financial aid (non-degree seeking).

  • Master of Jurisprudence in Compliance and Risk Management

    Learn to navigate complex legal and regulatory environments and take on a critical role in any business with this in-demand online Master of Jurisprudence in Compliance and Risk Management.

    Admittance to the Master of Jurisprudence program requires successful completion of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2.5 GPA. Individuals that do not meet the GPA requirement should contact an enrollment specialist at 844.254.4221 or enrollment@drake.edu for further information.

    Exams
    No graduate-level exams are required for admission. However, a student may submit scores from the GRE, GMAT, or LSAT if they believe it will benefit their application.

    International Students
    If a student earned her/his undergraduate degree outside of the United States or a student’s native language is not English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is required. Scores dated within the last two years are acceptable and must be reported directly from the testing agency. A copy of the test scores must be included with the application. Minimum acceptable TOEFL score on the Internet-based exam is 80. Minimum acceptable IELTS score is 7.0. If a student earned her/his undergraduate degree in the United States, the English proficiency requirement will be waived. Information about testing dates, location, and cost may be found at www.ets.org/toefl.

    Transfer Credits
    A maximum of 9 semester hours of graduate course credits from an AACSB-accredited graduate business school or ABA accredited law school will be allowed. All applications with transfer credits will take at least five days for review. Graduate course credit hours may be considered for transfer provided the following criteria are met:

    • Credits must be earned within four years of applying for the Drake Master of Jurisprudence Program
    • At minimum, a “B-” grade was earned in the course(s)
    • Credits are approved by the Program Director of Compliance and Risk Management
    • Credits are directly related to the Master of Jurisprudence program

     

  • Master of Public Administration

    Acquire the skills needed to lead public, government and nonprofit agencies with a Master of Public Administration degree from Drake’s Zimpleman College of Business.

  • Master of Science in Health Informatics and Analytics

  • Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology

    The MSCP program was developed for individuals licensed at the doctoral level as psychologists and therefore, is a post-doctoral program only.

    To apply for admission to the MS in Clinical Psychopharmacology program:

    • Applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a doctoral degree in psychology.

    For psychologists planning to pursue a certificate of prescriptive authority in a US state, province or territory that allows for this through their respective scope of practice law, the psychologist must additionally complete a fellowship that is sponsored by Drake University. To apply for fellowship, the psychologist must:

    • Hold and maintain a current, unrestricted license as a psychologist
    • Practice as a “health service psychologist” as defined by state law, where applicable, or as defined by the American Psychological Association.

     

    For psychologists or other healthcare professionals interested in pursuing additional education in psychopharmacology outside of the MSCP program, Drake’s CPHS offers a 12-hour Psychopharmacology Certificate Program.
